yep, there's a hidden superhero in everyone (:

and for the record it's 16 pullups! haha, keep hearing random imba no.s tossed around, but it's good, will make muddy work harder.

1.6km run this morning was SB shiok! haha, SB song also works. yep, happy, 7.23 wheeeee. good strategy that works for muddy is to pia all out for all the rounds, then confirm can get sub 12 for 2.4. weather was nice and cooling, though the strong winds have been causing some er... minor problems for skirt wearers esp on the 6th floor corridors.

wednesday ggxx

training today was shiok, the rowing part. for the 2kms, rowing my guts out... nice. thanks sparrow (:

anw before that was almost 6 hours of class/ assembly talk. luckily ms law let us out early from geog if not ggxx. exciting wednesdays.

got this very nice feeling when i caught a glimpse of the j1s during pushups. yep, did 40,20,30,10. told the 3 of them to rest for the 30 set but they still did with us. trying their best for every pushup.

train hard, push ourselves to our limits. keep going. as a team.

canoeing (:

one long week, happy training today though the rain was heavy. yay, feels nice but a little weird at such a big team. haha, now must call "J1s" and "J2s" instead of "eh everyone". yep, hope all of them will stay to find out the true spirit of canoeing (: sounds super drama, but that's the way it is. no wonder it's worth taking that chance. yep, and muddy believes and encourages them to go out and explore other ccas, see how fun they are. but at the end of the day, if they still wholeheartedly want to join canoeing, just goes to show their serious commitment to the team.

pe teacher

i think my mum very cool, she's checking out the requirements for teaching PE. yep, take a course at NIE, but first, there's this physical proficiency test (newly introduced and it's quite imba)

  • agility test (shuttle run x 8430974357880) but, can pass lah
  • swimming test 25m, no problem (:
  • badminton rally, quite imba, but can do
  • possession game, some captain's ball thingy, can
  • gymnastics test. compulsory forward roll, backward roll, arabesque (front scale). plus either cartwheel or headstand or handstand. GGXX. gao gao xing xing.

haha, muddy will not get owned at the last one, muddy promises to learn how to do a handstand (:

on our way to building that extra edge of mental toughness.

yesterday's training was... different. didn't want it to be the normal routines of pushups, situps, ipus. make every training count.

anw i love my favourite powerful image(s). it alternates between me crossing the finishing buoy triumphant, punching the air (: and a general good feeling of our fleet of boat gliding through the water. shiok. so while doing pushups etc, just kpt playing it again and again and again.

i think we learn alot from each other when we finally come together, sit down and talk. something that we have perhaps been neglecting for a long time, our hectic schedules as the reason. despite the periodic silence, it wasn't awkward in the least bit. it just felt very comfortable. something i figured awhile ago, that when you're with good company, it's really a matter of silence is golden.

elisa's thought provoking question: Are we ready to take that chance? that leap of faith? knowing that the further we dream, the higher we aspire to climb, the harder we might fall. the possibility of failure is always there, but do we even want to consider that?

It's damn scary, all of us know that. we have our own fears and feelings of inadequacy, then again, it's still up to us to overcome our inhibitions. belief. confidence is something we all have to find by ourselves i guess. courage, determination, all these are within us.

challenge (:

mon night was quite imba. suppose to wake up at 2am to do work, then guess what? blackout! yay, haha, so continue sleeping. wheeeeeeee

tue night, watched fairly oddparents... lying on the sofa, and the next thing i knew, it was 5.55. 5.55am? 5.55pm? hm.. was thinking "have i eaten dinner?" wheeeeeeeee, exciting!

today was cca feste. go to sch pia the souvenirs thingy, full lessons till 12.30pm, 1-3 cca feste, clear up, go for water. yup, got into mum's car at 7.45plus, dinner at blk 40 holland v. (western food super good)

ahhhh.... ordered from the western food stall, sort of know the auntie since i was P4. used to go there after swimming lessons at night since it was one of the few eating places still opened. haha, so order food, nothing weird yet. then went back. ketchup and chilli sauce bottles came (still okay) then the auntie came with the food "wah girl, what sport are you in ah? why so black? why arms so big?" (translated)

haha, i think my mum damn cool. 99.9999999% of mums would freak out if their daughter's arms were my size, or even half, muahahahha. haha, she still kept asking me whether there was enough food, say must eat more after training. did i mention she stocked up the house with nice food? like apples, peanuts, peanut butter, gardenia wholemeal bread (look at the nutritional values, much better than other brands), chocolate milk and yakult. wheeeeeeeeee

anw, today's training was very exciting. especially the weights. did many many reps. jiaolian's challenge for bench press was 20 reps. so muddy did 20. then continued... 30, 40. jiaolian "do 50". muddy continues... jiaolian "i think you must do 60" continues... 60. elisa "come on muddy, 10 more" 10 more... to 70.

felt super gg after that. especially since i already did 50 reps of the pulling thing that was ggxx. but with the concept of "new 100" in mind, completed 2 more sets, 75, 80! for the pulling thingy was 50, 65, 60 (or was it 70? i can't remember) reps.

it's amazing what we all got inside us and i think what i discovered today was just the tip of the iceberg. that deep conviction, strong resolve within us is powerful... beyond our measures. The same part of us which we bank on for courage, for motivation (whether through hope or fear), for power...

muddy can't refuse a challenge.

chanced upon a canoeing senior's blog (from several years ago)

haha, just when pple think i'm siao to want to sign up and run the full marathon in Dec just after As, read that this senior went to run the marathon (5 hours plus) AND WENT FOR PROM THEREAFTER.

ownage. haha, i like (: and despite hearing a... "realistic" projection of our team chances, muddy's filled with hope again. gold medal. how elusive... but our seniors have done it before and muddy doesn't see why we can't do it again. if we want, nothing's impossible. team effort.

anw was going home yesterday, took nel. thinking of stuff... canoeing and training and all, then when i looked up, guess what i saw? yep, the "Belief" tape on the mrt window.

yep, and thanks to mr eric lee (who with ms law make geog lessons super engaging), muddy's concept of "transformation vocabulary" is reinforced. yep, tell yourself positive stuff. in other words, self-delusion, haha, i like. it's a very powerful concept, even if you let negative thoughts enter your head, first acknowledge that you are even aware of it, then use your strength to overcome it.

Today was a good rowing day. Let's reCAP, despite some capsizes with xinmiao first time rowing together i think) and a J1, didn't feel very tense while rowing. ahahahah, lunch at 4.30pm at J8 was super ggxx, laughing over "cap". wheeeeeeeeeee

cca feste next week. hope some unknown force within will draw those chosen ones to canoeing. to assemble the most powerful team ever.

eh xinying, after reading your blog i'm suddenly reminded of nan hua days.

first assembly of the year is super grand. Mdm Fong as usual will be on the stage, then all the pupils will stand. Each half of the hall facing each other. Then we will raise our right hands and read from the big screen (OHP projector, last time no laptop projection)

haha, that's the only line i remember. quite cool rite. yearly ritual (:

yep, mrs loh finally sent us the aspiration shield we drew ourselves on the last sln gm in 2005. more than a year has passed since, and it's a nice reminder. for what i believe in. yes. and i very happy, got this cool thingy from the army recruitment centre, shall leave it in my notebook permanently. so i figured, that life is too short to leave things hanging, why wait for that special occassion when you can tell pple how much you appreciate them today?

goody! yay, he's one year older than muddy, been bestest friends since muddy was born. quite cute, more on the buff side. yep, you guessed it right, he's a soft toy! and he's right next to my com now (: wheeeeee

then it's doggie, penguin, doraemon, drop, ticok, chicky, mr whale (thinny) mr whale (fatty), big doraemon (special present from my dad. he went overseas training at taiwan for reservist and brought back this mega huge soft toy, was barely 4 years old then)

haha, actually i don't know where to start. hm.. let muddy procrastinate. yep, but if you've shared some really ggxx times and some really screwed up times, laughed like siao together, played damn hard alongside, well, that's you, thanks (:

swimming (:

just got back from swimming, super shiok now (:

yay, can swim even faster now. kickboard was super ggxx, barely swam 1 lap of a 32 m pool and i died. haha, but poolbuoy was super fun, felt like i was flying through water, propelled by imba strong arms thanks. and butterfly was imba (: yay, even my ex-coach says it's good. haha, i like swimming (: was it ian thorpe or the new guy who said "water is my element"

did i mention he was in canoeing? yep, his acjc days. then he went on to commandos. haha, cool rite. and guess what? my mum's learning how to swim freestyle from him now. wheeeeeeeee

ahhhh, can't wait for school to start tmr! YAY
